Aqua Fit is a great form of exercise if you have an injury or if you don’t enjoy exercise that puts too much strain on your muscles and joints. By exercising in the water, you’re able to exercise without putting stress on your muscles and joints. The water provides great support to your body, while challenging your strength and endurance.
At the Sportscenter Fitness & Athletic Club, you’ll find different kinds of water aerobics and classes.
Advanced Deep Water class is a 45-minute non-impact class. This class takes place in the deep end of the pool and has an optional lower body workout. If this sounds like you, you can attend the Advanced Deep Water class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 am.
Shallow H20 is a 45-minute class. This is an intermediate class, where you can build muscle strength and work on your flexibility while getting an aerobic workout. Shallow H20 takes place in the shallow end of the pool and you can attend this class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00 am.
Extreme H20 is a Tabata style class offered every Tuesday at 9:30am. This 60-minute class consists of high-intensity interval training featuring exercises that last 4 minutes. You push yourself as hard as you can for 20 seconds and recover for 10 seconds. This is one set. You complete 8 sets of each exercise.
Extreme H20 Bootcamp Class is offered every Thursday at 9:30am. This 60-minute class will ramp up your workout level using a Boot Camp style format. Foam weights, noodles, balls, and kick boards will provide an additional challenge to the intensity of the workout. This class will be hardcore as it can get in the water with laps, high reps, interval training, and more.
